The inherent dignity of every human being must be acknowledged from the moment of conception until natural death. This core principle affirms the value of human life and should be central to ethical discussions, especially in the field of biomedical research, which plays an increasingly vital role in the modern world. The Church’s Magisterium has consistently addressed and clarified moral issues in this domain. One key contribution was the Instruction Donum Vitae, which held particular significance. Now, twenty years later, it is timely to revisit and update its guidance through this new publication by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
